EIGHTH BRIDGE

The Eighth Bridge project was installed on two sides of the South Saskatchewan River in Saskatoon, Canada. Seven bridges connect the city of Saskatoon and this project served as the 8th bridge, a metaphorical bridge.  The project was designed to encourage the viewer to walk across the near-by bridge in order to complete the experience of witnessing the semi-circle of planted trees on one side of the river near the Mendel Art Gallery and the semi-circle of inverted trees on the University side of the river.  Together they form a whole circle which is completed by the experience of traversing the bridge and by so doing spending time engaging with the place itself.
