CARNIWARS

Carniwars is configured in 5 concentric circles, each circle is composed of wooden silhouette shaped animals, Sheep, Goats, Cows, Horses and Pigs.  At the center of the circular configuration stands the figure of a man complete with a big belly and hat.  He is isolated and can be perceived to be either someone communing with the farm animals or perhaps facing them as they accuse him of carnivorous behaviors. The work was inspired by a comment made by the militant vegetarian and playwright George Bernard Shaw, when he stated that upon his death the funeral coach would be followed by all of the animals that he did not devour during his life-time.
